WARNING REGARDING MULTIMEDIA FILES

Whenever you launch a multimedia icon, the actual file is stored in a cache on your hard drive under the LSS2 directory. The default location is c:\Program Files\LSS2\Cache. Depending upon settings in your computer, these files may not be automatically erased. In such case, your hard drive may become full if its capacity is less than five gigabytes.

You can go to Windows Explorer to locate the LSS2 cache folder, and then periodically erase all of the files that it contains.

If you click on a multimedia link within LSS+ and receive an error message that you cannot run the data link file, it is likely due to the default program that is selected on your computer for running video and audio files. In order to run media files from LSS+, you should have Windows Media Player selected as the default value. In order to set this option, conduct a SEARCH for mp3 and then wmv files. When each type of file is located, right click on the icon, select OPEN WITH, then Windows Media Player. This tells the operating system to utilize the media player as the default program and will allow Folio to execute the proper link so you can view or listen to audio and video files. Remember that you cannot launch video files directly from an individual video disk. Video files are encrypted and must be selected from a multimedia icon in the main Infobase program.
