Security.Org User Infobase

This site utilizes two separate internal search engines. The text-based search tool will search all HTML text files by a literal string, or search term. It will not search our Infobase.

The Security.org Infobase contains specialized information about locks, safes, vaults, patents, and security products, to meet the needs of locksmiths, safe technicians, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies. The displayed information is formatted based upon an individual query. You may select one or more responses to your inquiry.  You may wish to use both search engines, because certain information is contained in files, reports, and areas of our site that will not appear through an Infobase query.

How to Search the Infobase

A query may be made by entering a category of information as a global search term. For example, the name of a manufacturer, or the primary search classification may be input. A summary of all results will then be displayed. You may also select a primary search category, and view all possible choices. Your search may then be narrowed by entering several search criteria, such as the make, model, and manufacturer of a lock. The initial result of your search will display all items that are available.  You must select each item for which you wish to view detailed data. If you believe there is a problem with a particular response, please advise us, with the reference number associated with the data.

Search Terms

Primary Classification: This denotes the primary classification or description of the item, such as lock, safe lock, bypass tool, lock pick, etc.

Manufacturer: The entity which produced the product. In the case of catalog items, the manufacturer may be listed as the vendor.

Model: The specific model or part number assigned by the manufacturer or vendor.

Produce Sub-Class: A further definition of the primary classification. For example, the definition of a safe lock may be further narrowed to combination lock.

Multiple Infobase Entries

Our infobase contains information from many sources. Some data pertaining to a manufacturer and product may be duplicated, in different formats. Each source has provided unique information.

Access to Materials in this Infobase

You may be denied access to materials without the proper access security clearance. You will be required to enter your user name and password once for system security, and once for database security. IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE DATABASE, YOU MUST SUPPLY YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS. All inquiries are logged.

Searching for Patents

There are over 1500 patent summaries, and approximately 200 full text patents which may be downloaded. These are referenced by U.S. patent number, within the Infobase. There are cross-references to manufacturers and specific products, where applicable. You must use the Excite search engine for patent summaries.
