Ring Spotlight Cam Wired Privacy Report

Privacy Rating
Ring Spotlight-Cam-Wired - Product Header Image

While the Ring Spotlight Camera encrypts all data and has a bug bounty program, it loses points in our book for the sheer amount of personal data it collects. In addition to the standard payment and account information, Ring stores geolocation, information about your Wi-Fi, and even your social media handles if you create your account or share your Ring images using social media. It also logs audio and video. Ring’s privacy policy states that it does not sell personal information, but it does share it with its affiliates and business partners, which leaves things pretty wide-open.
