Surfshark is one of those VPN brands that offer tremendous value for a low price, with subscriptions going for as low as $2.39. It’s one of our favorite VPNs. With its features – obfuscation, customizable multihop, and over 3,000 servers in 100 countries, just to name a few – Surfshark’s pricing almost feels too good to be true when you want to keep your personal digital security through privacy.
That said, not everyone has a steady budget for a VPN right now, especially in this economy. So if you’re looking for ways to legally access one of the top VPNs at below-market prices, we scoured the web for ways to do just that. Here’s everything we found.
Surfshark: How to Save
The cost of Surfshark isn’t much to begin with; there’s even a free VPN available, but only for a 30-day free trial. One surefire way to save is to buy a yearly or two-year membership rather than going month-to-month. For comparison, the monthly plan costs $10.99. The two year plan costs $59.75. You’ll break even in six months. And if you’re worried about buyer’s remorse, there’s a 30-day money-back option for any Surfshark plan.
Besides that, your best bet to save money is to wait for special shopping events and holidays.
Prime Day
Usually, VPNs aren’t discounted on Prime Day, Amazon’s sales holiday. That being said, we’ll keep our fingers crossed for 2024.
Black Friday And Cyber Monday
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest sales holidays of the year, and last year, Surfshark gave us great discounts, like up to 80 percent off a three-year membership, which comes out to $1.99 a month. Seasonal Deals
Last summer, Surfshark offered us a two-year subscription for only $1.99 a month, the same cost as a four-month subscription.
Holiday Deals
Surfshark gave us three extra months when we signed up for two years. This is Surfshark’s typical deal, which we’ve also seen with past Black Fridays.
Student Discount
If you register with Student Beans, you can get 15 percent off any Surfshark order, no matter the time of year. Check getting that VPN for school off your list!
Referral Program
Another way to save on Surfshark is through their refer-a-friend program, available with the iOS, Android and Windows apps (sorry, Mac users!).

It’s pretty straightforward. As long as your referrals stay for 30 days or more, you’ll be able to use Surfshark for free for one, six, or 12 months, or up to 19 months in total. That’s over a year and a half of free service, so it pays to have friends, especially if they’re looking for a great new VPN.

Coupon Codes
